I,
Durai Samson, have committed my life for full-time
ministry. After completing my degree, I entered into a
Bible College. I worked with FMPB and IBL, during which
time I served in North India.
My wife Regina grew up in a Home and hence knows the
struggles of the under privileged very well. She
completed B.Sc, B.Ed in Sarah Tucker College,
Palayamkottai, Trinelveli, under sponsorship. She served
as a teacher in reputed schools.
In the year 2004, the Lord gave us this vision to
start Zamar Trust.
Our Vision is to
TEACH -
Transform the lives of less privileged Children
through Education with
Affection and
Care in a
Home-like
atmosphere.
We strive to provide quality education free of cost
to the children who are first generation learners from
below poverty line and broken families by addressing the
major hurdles faced by them namely: (1) lack of
motivation, (2) prohibitive cost, and (3) lack of family
support in terms of means, morale and methods. Our aim
is to develop and integrate these children into the main
stream of our nation as responsible citizens.
Our Trust is a registered body and obtained 12AA, 80G
and FCRA clearances, and our accounts are regularly
audited and filed. The Trust consists of the following
members:
- Durai Samson – Managing Trustee
- Regina – Trustee
- Pastor Thomas Devanandam - Member
- Binu Joshua Thomas - Member
- Suja Joshua - Member
- Joe Salin Charles - Member
- Selvi Kirubakaran - Member
Brief History:
Started in the year 2004 with 32 children and 2 teachers
and 2 staff at the present rented premise. The present
strength is 137 children, 6 teachers and 3 staff.
Currently, we have classes from lower-kindergarten to
standard III. We have achieved tremendous progress
during the initial years of our work in terms of
motivation, language skills, and overall development of
these children. |
